DGK steel is a specially processed steel that increases the tool life by as much as 10 times over regular High-Speed Steel. The coating is a patented diamond-like coating that can withstand heat of over 2200º F. DGK is ground and jointed the same as other HSS and does not change procedures in the tool room or at the moulder except DO NOT HONE THE FACE. DGK has been used to run short runs of MDF up to 5,000 lineal feet. Maple and oak runs have been reported as much as 25,000 lineal feet and we had a report from one of our pine high-speed mills that runs over 1 million feet regularly on DGK. Your results may vary depending upon accuracy of the grind and material being run.

DGK is a heat reflective hard coating applied to wood working tools, including corrugated steel, inserts, and solid carbide router bits, to increase the life of cutting tools. Product Benefits: Minimum of 50% increase in tool life Withstands heat in excess of 2000 degrees Lowers the cutting friction, and grinds easily.
